About Tim McKenna
Tim McKenna is a designer, developer, and drummer in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I am the creative director at Aspire Ventures and I freelance under the moniker of Azrael Group.
I went into design after touring Hussian School of Art and seeing the album cover of Walls of Jericho’s “All Hail the Dead”. I found out that a current student designed it and I instantly I was hooked. I graduated in 2010 from Hussian School of Art (now Hussian College) with a BFA in design. I have also have two associates degrees, one in fine art and the other in web development, from Harrisburg Area Community. I started my career as a designer in 2006 living and working at International House of Philadelphia where I helped the marketing department create show posters and materials for our fundraising gala. I am an active member of AIGA and previously served on the board of AIGA Central PA in a variety of roles, including president. Currently, I am working with the national board in the Ambassador program. I am also a regular speaker at design conferences around the world. Previously in my life, I was the drummer for the band From Their Eyes, a national touring hardcore band that played on Warped Tour, HellFest, and once on Ozzfest. I still actively play the drums but can currently be only found annoying my neighbors from my first floor studio.
Outside of design, I spend my time with my fiance Amanda and our dog Xena. I play drums and I am an avid homebrewer.
